FC Eilenburg is finding it very hard to win on the road in Kamenz. FCE has one loss and two ties in their last 3 meeting there. This time, FC Eilenburg, once again, received a scoreless draw; 0-0. FC Eilenburg has a current 5-game shutout streaking heading into the last match this year. The season will resume next year in February.
Last week, Branden Stelmak was announced as Player of the Year 2017 in Eilenburg for the second consecutive year.
Under very cold and wet conditions, FC Eilenburg defeated Krieschow 5-0 at home. Stelmak scored the first three goals including a penalty shot. Sauer and Kummer added the forth and fifth goal to seal the game. With two games remaining this half of the season, FCE will travel to their Sachsen rival, Kamenz, on Saturday.
This was a game with very few chances and too many fouls. There was hardly a rhythm to the match and no extra time was added to the match after several delays from the Stendal players. FC Eilenburg controlled the game with possession but struggled to beat the 5 defenders who played very deep. After all, FCE gains a point after there longest road trip this season. With three games remaining this calendar year, FCE will have there team banquet this Tuesday and a home match this upcoming weekend.
FC Eilenburg hosted Chemnitzer FC (3rd Bundesliga team) last Friday. In the pouring raining, CFC scored a late goal to seal the game 1-0. As the game progressed, both teams created chances. Unfortunately, Eilenburg wasn’t able to convert. However, FC Eilenburg was very physical and executed a high pressing defense that created exciting end to end play. FC Eilenburg will travel this upcoming weekend to Stendal for a league match.
FC Eilenburg won 2-0 at home despite an early red card. With one player less, Eilenburg still managed to dominate most parts of the game. Stelmak’s physicality was unmatched and the speed and endurance of FCE’s mid-field handled the situation well. Stelmak redirected a poor clearance to Fiedler for the second goal of the match and Stelmak’s 10th assist on the year. This Friday, FCE will host Chemnitz (3rd Bundesliga team) in a friendly match since both teams were knocked out of the cup tournament this past week.
FC Eilenburg was eliminated from the cup tournament after a shootout loss to Bischofswerda (BFV). This year, FCE played familiar faces including front runners from last years Championship run; Grimma and Kamenz. Unfortunately, FCE came up short to this years table leaders, BFV. Stelamk recorded 4 goals in the 3 appearances in the tournament.
FC Eilenburg got off to a winning start this week after defeating Rudolstadt 1-0. Stelmak scored the first half goal and FCE’s defense were able to post another shutout. This win places FCE to 4th place in the table. On Tuesday, the Pokal games continue as FCE hosts BFV.
FC Eilenburg ties league leader BFV 1-1 at home. Eilenburg scored first but were unable to shutout their opponents. Unfortunately, FCE drops in the table to sixth place; 7 points behind BFV. Eilenburg will travel for the next match and then BFV will have to come back to Eilenburg next Tuesday for the Pokal game.
FC Eilenburg tied the game in the final minutes to secure a point on the road. Stelmak assisted Röhrborn for the first goal and Röhrborn assisted Kummer for the second. Eilenburg’s next match will be at home against the league leaders on Saturday.
